Gang Tang

I am a tenure-track associate professor at Institute for Math & AI, Wuhan University. Previously, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Birmingham, working with Christophe Petit. I did my PhD in the Centre for Quantum Software and Information, University of Technology Sydney, supervised by Youming Qiao and Mingsheng Ying.

My research interests lie in cryptography, with a particular focus on cryptanalysis and the design of post-quantum protocol. I also have a broad interest in theoretical computer science.

I am one of the authors of ALTEQ, a post-quantum signature scheme that is a candidate in round 1 of the NIST call for additional digital signatures .

I am actively seeking highly motivated Ph.D. students, Master’s students, and Postdoctoral researchers to work on topics in cryptography, especially post-quantum cryptography. If you are interested in these areas, feel free to contact me via g.tang.1 [AT] bham.ac.uk or gangtang97 [AT] gmail.com.
